The proper tools for software artisans

About OSoSLO

Company History

OSoSLO was founded in 2009 by Daniel Brannon, an expert in software engineering infrastructure. The company is based in beautiful San Luis Obispo county, California, located midway on the coast between San Franscisco and Los Angeles.

What's in a name?

The company name OSoSLO (pronounced "Oh so S.L.O.") stands for "Organic Software of San Luis Obispo". It is representative of a way of life, far removed from the hectic pace of urban centers. The town of San Luis Obispo is often referred to affectionately as "SLO Town", alluding to its reputation as a relaxed, easy-going community. So, if you prefer to pronounce our company name as "Oh so slow", we won't mind a bit.

Our Philosophy - Do one thing and do it well

It seems like most software publishers today are obsessed with packing ever greater quantities of "features" into a software application. The result has often been the creation of monstrous "bloat-ware" applications which are poorly organized, confusing to use and ill-suited for any specific task. Such applications are comparable to those multi-function, foldable pliars that, while popular as gifts, are rarely used.

When it comes time to do a job, nothing can substitute for having the right tools available. OSoSLO is dedicated to providing the highest quality tools that software artisans need to get the job done right. Our tools are each designed for a single purpose, and crafted to produce the best possible results with a minimum of effort.
