Get Connected with BBM

Version 1.7 includes features leveraging the power of the BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM) social network. Your BBM contacts can check your recent activity in Switch by viewing your profile in BBM. For those BBM contacts who have installed Switch, you can assign tasks to them and initiate multi-user discussions within Switch.

Share Your Achievements

View and e-mail reports on how your time was spent by day, week, month or year. Your historical activity record of tasks can be viewed, edited, and e-mailed as well as recorded in the BlackBerry® calendar. E-mail reports include nicely formatted HTML attachments, plus raw report data in CSV file attachments. Context-sensitive help is available to guide you every step of the way.

Switch™ Screens

Task List

As you change work activities throughout the day, simply pick the matching task from the list. Switch™ will automatically keep track of how much time you spend on each task.

Switch™ uses the same task list as your BlackBerry Tasks app, so you don't need to maintain multiple to-do lists. This also means that the task list can be synchronized with an organizer program on your desktop for easier maintenance.

Creating, modifying and deleting tasks or marking them as completed can be done directly from the task list, making task management on your BlackBerry easier than ever.

Summary Reports

Tracking your time isn't particularly useful unless you can later review how your time was spent. Switch™ presents your work history in concise, summarized reports organized by task. For convenience, the report period can be set to any given day, week, month or year.

Each line in the report shows the total amount of time spent on a given task during the report period. The tasks are listed in descending order of the time spent, and the total time for all tasks is also shown in the report header.

Use horizontal swipes on your trackball, trackpad or touchscreen to view earlier/later time periods, or use menu commands to pick a specific period.

E-mail Integration

To share your work record with others, or just to send yourself a copy, Switch™ supports forwarding summary reports via e-mail and PIN messages. Just select "Forward As..." from the menu on any summary report you wish to send. Switch™ will compose the message for you, and let you make any further changes before sending.

Calendar Integration

As an alternative for viewing your work history, Switch™ can optionally record the time you spend on tasks in your BlackBerry calendar. This provides a time-based view of your work history, and each calendar entry contains any comments you entered when switching tasks.

From most Switch™ summary report screens, you can choose the menu command "Show Calendar" to view the BlackBerry calendar for the same time frame as the summary report.

Task Switch History

Switch™ keeps track of your work activities by recording task switch events. Each such event represents the instant when you switched to work on a different task. View the recorded set of task switch events for each day in the Task Switch History screen. Use horizontal swipes on your trackball, trackpad or touchscreen to view other days, or use the menu command "Go To Day..." to pick a specific day.

Who said you can't change history? With Switch™, your work record is fully editable. You can easily adjust the time of any task switch event. There are also menu commands available to delete existing task switches, or to insert new ones at any point in time.

Program Options

Use the Category option to set the task category for filtering the task list and summary reports.

Choose beteween Light and Dark themes for your viewing pleasure.

Define the standard length of your work day and work week to influence how summary reports display time totals.

Enable the Calendar History option to record your activities in the BlackBerry calendar.

Choose whether or not you wish to be prompted for comments when switching tasks.
